Q:We hate to toss out the Christmas trees to be picked up by the trash. Are there any uses for the trees when the holidays are over?
A:You paid good money for that tree so you are entitled to full benefits-even when the holidays are over: One fun project is to decorate the tree once more but this time to treat the wildlife visiting the yard.
String up some popcorn, cranberries and dried fruits to encircle the tree and provide an after-the-holidays treat. Spread peanut butter on pine cones and then dip them in birdseed to hang on the tree. You can hang ears of corn on the tree. Position the trees within view of a window and sit back to watch the wildlife enjoy the feast.
Other uses for a holiday tree include cutting the limbs into sections to use as mulch or adding the shoots to the compost pile. If you wish, balsam fir tree needles can be saved as they dry and used to make small fragrant pillows or potpourri to display in the home. Small portions of the holiday tree trunks might also be cut into small pieces and saved to use as kindling in the fireplace.

If you live in a multi family apartment or condo we suggest you buzz your local County or City Solid Waste Authority for instructions on more “green disposal steps” of your used Christmas tree.
Many garden stores will accept the used trees and will generate mulch for you that can be used for your inside plants.

I'm starting up a internet blog directory and was wanting to know if I can submit your site? I'm trying to mature my directory gradually by hand so
that it retains top quality. I will make sure and put your blog in
the correct category and I'll also use, "Blogger: Green Topics" as your anchor text. Be sure to let me know if this is ok with you by e-mailing me at: alejandro_morrison@gmail.com. Bless you
