More on the Circular Economy…..

How the Ellen MacArthur Foundation defines it:

A circular economy is one that is restorative and regenerative by design, and which aims to keep products, components and materials at their highest utility and value at all times, distinguishing between technical and biological cycles.
The video below explains and gives you an easy idea of what we mean by restorative and regenerative products.

(Watch the video for an interesting spin on the information we are talking about in this blog…)

“There’s a world of opportunity to re-think and re-design the way we make stuff. ‘Re-Thinking Progress’ explores how through a change in perspective we can re-design the way our economy works – designing products that can be ‘made to be made again’ and powering the system with renewable energy. It questions whether with creativity and innovation we can build a restorative economy.”

Companies have to begin to think of everything as an asset to their company and the relationship they have with the consumer as not a one time buy, but giving a consumer a product that can last a lifetime and another lifetime. This process cannot be achieved over night. Granted, it will take some time and money before it’s a real thing but like I’ve always said I rather spend more upfront to have something last me for a long time in the future. I think we all can agree with that.

So now that you have a review of all the good stuff; we’d like to talk more about the EMF. The Ellen MacArthur Foundation works in Education & Training, Business & Government, Insight & Analysis, and Communications to accelerate the transition to a circular economy. They have been around since 2006 making slow progressively fundamental steps to the growth of the circular economy. December of last year they even got Wal-Mart (one of the biggest corporations in America) to sign on for the Circular Economy Initiative. Yes, “WallyWorld” will be a part of this. Just imagine how huge this will be a couple of years to come where waste is no longer a term we use for things that are perfectly recyclable and reused. No wasted anything. Imagine that!

I mean we could go on and on about this but of course we want you to read it for yourself and see what you think. Head over to their page and comment to us what you think about all of this…
