72″ Recycled Rubber Mulch Tree Ring Mat Heavy Pattern by Conserv-A-Store

Do not worry about how to install a tree ring and the installation process. Any one can do it with a little patience and determination.

• Please be advised: When moving, installing, or rearranging these mats: they are pretty heavy and unwieldy so we suggest that 2 folks do the install/movement to save lower backs of the installers
• Be prepared for about 45 minutes for entire process from beginning to end.
• As with all tree rings it’s smart to dig out a few inches of dirt, clay, or substrate so the ring fits level with the ground such as the picture below.

Step 1: Place the Tree Ring around the Tree where you plan to dig/place the Tree Ring

Step 2: Cut accordingly. If the center or outside needs to be smaller than you want

Step 3: Using a Shovel mark where the outer ring of the Tree Ring is so you can dig the grass below it up

Step 4: Remove the Grass where you made the markings/outline

Step 5: Replace the Tree Ring

Please be aware: For these larger Tree Rings, we do cut a larger center area. If it is not sufficient once you place the ring on the tree, you can use a saw/knife/ tool of preference to carefully remove areas is which you need removed for it to place correctly on the tree’s base. Need to Cut a Larger Hole in the Middle of the Tree Ring?

• We’ve found that the use either of a fine tooth irrigation (PVC) saw or a very long blade Dewalt brand utility knife works well. Normally big box or Local Hardware should have.
• Oddly if you mark it well and do it on a utility table a very long blade kitchen knife-like 10 inches-works too…(just don’t get your wife mad at you)
• ALWAYS PLEASE WEAR GLOVES, goggles, and go slow and all will go well!
• Some customers mentioned using a Dremel tool from the fabric side, and it worked fine. You will burned some rubber but it does get the job done.
